SAVE THE TREES

More than 500 of the world’s leading brands, including Stella McCartney, H&M, Zara, PVH, Kering and Walmart, have announced a milestone commitment to the CanopyStyle pledge, a solutions-driven campaign by environmental non-profit Canopy, helping fashion brands, retailers and designers keep forests out of their supply chains.

More than 200 million trees are logged every year to produce the most widely used materials in fashion – like viscose and rayon – resulting in irreplaceable biodiversity loss, impacting community livelihoods, and progressing climate change.

The protection of the world’s trees has been identified by world-leading scientists as 30 per cent of the climate solution, making innovative solutions – like using agricultural residue or recycled textiles as alternatives to wood – a necessity. canopyplanet.org
