Recovering from a recent injury things have been a bit tough. My daughter cleared the mail on Friday and asked me if anything “good” had happened to me today… she then pulled my Good magazine out of her jacket. Best surprise after a tough week – and so nice to receive it direct to my home when getting to the shops is hard. Having a subscription sure does pay o ! Loved the craft and sewing articles. Both have gotten me through some tougher periods in life.

What a great interview with Nici Wickes. I’ve used her book My Mother’s Kitchen for years – it was a trip down memory lane for me to reconnect with recipes I had used as a young woman so I’m Iooking forward to buying The Quiet Kitchen. By sharing her experiences Nici has given a template for women to positively embrace life changes with courage and to enjoy each new phase. I wish I had been lucky enough to have read her thoughts years ago. We need examples of happy, strong, honest women to keep us grounded.

Thank you for such an interesting interview.

I’m not generally a magazine buyer or reader, however I was attracted by the matt pages and the practical size as I grabbed a copy of Good before heading for a flight recently. What a great surprise to read articles resonating with my personal interests in such a down to earth manner. Spring is around the corner and Wendyl and Annabel have both inspired me to spring into action in the garden and the kitchen. Looking forward already to the next edition, thank you Good!

Was thrilled to read the article about wildlife champion Jamie Joseph. My kids and I have quite the connection with this awesome lady… We first saw her on Sunday a few years back when they documented her tireless e orts to save the rhino from extinction. Watching in awe, my wildlife loving 7 and 4 year old kids were so inspired by this woman that they decided they wanted to help. They started o by running a cupcake sale. Then they sold all their Lego and donated the proceeds to Saving The Wild. We contacted Jamie to thank her and have enjoyed many emails back and forth. We felt inspired to do further fundraising. Juliet organised a ‘Dress up as your favourite animal’ day at her primary school with everyone so kindly donating a gold coin to Jamie’s charity. Jamie was so grateful for my kids’ fundraising e orts that the next time she was in NZ she flew down to Wellington to speak at their school. At age 9 Juliet designed a T-shirt to sell. It was a big success with T-shirts being sold throughout NZ (and some in Australia!) and the proceeds went straight to feeding/caring for orphaned rhinos in Africa. It has been such a delight to know and champion Jamie and her charity. Many thanks for doing so Good at spreading the word of Jamie’s plight to secure the future of not only the rhino and elephants but the exciting future of young Maasai woman through the love of bees.
