JUST BREATHE

Tauranga-based wāhine Julia Wikeepa is on a mission to tackle anxiety with the launch of her Hā breathwork tool and Hā Habit e-book. The stainless-steel breathing tool can be worn as a necklace and works by assisting the user to slow their breathing, which triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, calming the body and mind. It can also be used to intercept thought patterns related to addiction, mental illness and eating disorders. hahabitnz.com

Jane Goodall chats with Emma Lewisham

Tune into The Jane Goodall Hopecast, activist and scientist Jane Goodall’s podcast series and a movement fuelled by hope and driven by action.

In a recent episode, Goodall chats to Kiwi clean beauty entrepreneur Emma Lewisham, whose goal is to transform the wasteful impact of the beauty industry.

Since launching the first Emma Lewisham Refills in February 2021 under the global circularity programme ‘Beauty Circle’, Emma Lewisham has sold more than 13,000 refills saving 10,295kg of CO2e in total, which is the equivalent of about 30.9 litres of Arctic sea ice loss being prevented through reduced carbon emissions. janegoodall.org

Unwind with Unyoked

Hurrah! Australian nature company Unyoked is launching into New Zealand with fully o -grid hideaways dotted around the country. The hideaways use solar power, rain water, wood fire and composting loos to leave a minimal footprint on the environment.

The pioneering nature-as-a-service model is helping more people see, and use, the outdoors like they do the gym or their mediation app. Unyoked allows you to slow down, so you can stress less, reset and release your creative energy. It has grown into a globally recognised lifestyle brand, with immersive locations. The first locations in New Zealand are nestled in native bush near the Bay of Islands, Auckland’s west coast and around the Port Waikato coastline.

PAYING IT FORWARD

Since 2006, Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) has been bringing people together to plant and care for native trees, eradicate pests and weeds, protect threatened species, restore our waterways and help make our natural spaces accessible to everyone. To date CVNZ has planted more than 1.3 million trees, collected 120,000kg of rubbish and removed 455 hectares of invasive weeds!

It’s also one of three recipients of Stoneleigh’s Nature, This One’s On Us campaign, which is donating $500,00 to biodiversity causes around the world. You can get involved through volunteering for CVNZ or by voting for a proportion of Stoneleigh’s donation to go to either CVNZ, The Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust and The Native Forest Restoration Trust at stoneleigh.com/naturethisonesonus
