This bright drink is quick to prepare and quicker to drink – I usually drink it from a shot glass. You will have to source fresh turmeric, though, which can be hard to find. In Bali, you can buy it at the markets in a little plastic bag – but in New Zealand, you’re best to try your local Asian supermarket, which might have turmeric root either fresh or, in a pinch, frozen. 4 tablespoons finely grated fresh turmeric (use a ginger grater) 1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice 2 teaspoons good-quality honey* Combine and drink every morning until you feel better. *You may need to add a little warm water (not hot) to dissolve the honey depending on what kind of honey you are using.
